Classic

Characteristics

The wood floors of the Classic range are manufactured in solid wood, they are laid coarse and need an articulated laying process on site for stabilization.
Traditional wood floor were the most common for a long time because they were very easy to realise.

Finish
The products in the Classic range can be varnished, oiled or waxed.
Varnished floors provide better resistance to surface scratching than oiled and waxed finishes, but undoubtedly lower than the industrial finishes of pre-finished floors.
However, the level of resistance depends on the choice of varnishes.

Flexibility and stability
The wood used to make the Classic line undergoes meticulous and lengthy treatments before being processed. Although they involve high costs and complex procedures and cannot be appreciated by the eye, these treatments improve stability both during laying and in the long term.

Ecology
All the ecological parameters are fully respected.

Where

•It can be laid on concrete screeds from 5 up to 7 cm thick. Concrete screeds are suitable both traditional or quick-drying hydraulic-binder based. They must be compact, solid and flat.

•It can be laid on pre-existing floors which must be compact and properly degreased.

•It can be laid to replace carpets, after taking them off, removing all residual glue and making sure the underfloor is compact enough.

•It can be laid on an existing parquet flooring after sanding only if it is well fixed on the underfloor. The new parquet flooring must be set perpendicularly to the old one.

How

•The traditional wood floor is made up of solid wood elements that have to be stabilized with a long and articulated laying cycle. After laying it is necessary to wait 20 days to allow a correct adjustment of wood before sanding and finishing.

•The wood floor must be always laid glued considering that the glues mus be correctly spread on the underfloor and not on the sides or heads of the strips.

•Further information on laying must refer to the "Manuale per la posa di pavimenti di legno per uso civile" ("Manual for laying wooden flooring in homes")(Edilegno - Federlegno Arredo).

When

•The traditional wood floor mus be laid before painting, installing the doors' counterframe. Sanding and finish must be the very last operation before furnishing.

Maintenance

	Maintenance should be done simply using a cloth with only water or water and Detersave and well wrung. Detersave is the ideal neutral detergent to clean all types of wood floors by Gazzotti. It cleans without leaving any halon, it sanitizes your wood floor and leaves a pleasant perfume in the surrounding environment. In addition it acts as a strong bactericide.
	If necessary, to give your wood floor the original shine, Paquet Light Gazzotti may be added to water. It is a product designed especially for parquet flooring: cleans, protects and brings back the original shine to parquets: it may be used on all types of varnished wood floors.

The use of spirit, solvents, acid or bleach can cause irreparable damage to the varnishing.For maintenance of presanded products, make reference to the instructions of the surface finish producer

Stair Profiles

Made of noble wood, already sanded and varnished. Designed for easy stairs constructions and made from the same elements as the floor, these profiles can be used with 10 or 14 mm thick floors.
They are available rounded or square (by previous order; available in 15-20 days).

Thresholds

Extremely useful accessories for matching up slight differences in level of the finished floor. Vintage finish, non-brushed, they are realised to match the floor characteristics.

The choice of the most appropriate glue depends on the type of floor chosen and the characteristics of the foundation. Two types of glue are available:
