Free Time is the range of wood floor for outdoor use by Gazzotti: a quality product due to the care during treatment and wood processing.
Free Time will not be ruined by water or other weather conditions and, thanks to its high strength and elegant appearance, Free Time is ideal for flooring terraces, pool edges, penthouses, platforms and walkways in gardens: a touch of sophistication that enhances outdoor spaces, making them more comfortable, pleasant and natural, in harmony with modern building trends.
Finish
All the products in the Free Time range undergo a rigid seasoning cycle of the wood species. When laying the floor, previously cleaned, it must necessarily be treated with the special protective oil Sundeck Oil Gazzotti when installed in order to ensure proper preservation of the flooring over time.
The Free Time products are not guaranteed if they are not laid following the instruction in the product sheet or if the surface is not treated with Sundeck Oil.
Over time the visible part of wood, exposed to weather conditions, will become slightly grey and can show some small bristles. Therefore they must not be considered as defects, but as a natural characteristic of wood kept outdoor.
Stability
The stability of the products is guaranteed by the correct humidity level of wood, obtained with long natural processes; the use of Sundeck Oil; the laying done following the producer's instructions.
Wood is a natural material and therefore even if it is well treated and selected, it is subject to a strong hygrometric and thermal stress when exposed to weather. Alternating daily cycles (day-night), seasonal cycles (summer-winter) and weather conditions (rain-sun), exposes wood to a continuous attempt to reach a humidity equilibrium with the surrounding environment. Because of this, after the installation, wood can show differnt characteristics like micro-cracks in the strips or helix deformation (twist) of the strips. These characteristics are simply consequences of the naturality of wood and they cannot be considered as defects of the product.
The support profiles, necessary to lay the Planks or those already included in the Tiles are made of the same wood specie as the floor and therefore they guarantee more stability and strength in time.
Accidental damages
All the products allow the replacement of the single damaged elements:
we suggest you to keep an appropriate stock of the used product.
When replaced, the new element will show a different color: when exposed to sunlight, after some time, it will become of the same color as the other elements.
The Free Time range includes 4 different products:
Smooth Planks Ash Thermic
Thermic Ash solid woos planks for the outdoors: an absolute novelty since the wood, after being brought to very high temperature, is subjected to premature ageing and molecular rupture that permit its humidity to be mantained for a resulting increase in stability.
The planks are made with double grooves on the long sides, rounded to make it safe to walk on them. They are appropriate for hidden laying or laying with screws in full view, always carried out on floating slats.
The product, technologically advanced and extremely reliable, thanks to its use of the same procedure used to create saunas, acquires an extremely elegant and natural dark color.
The surface in full view is smooth in order to give maximum prominence to the wood grain, thus obtaining a perfectly natural appearance.

Grained Planks Ipè
Ipè planks in solid wood with grained surface for outdoor use. Over time this wood species has proved to be suitable for contact with the outdoors.
The product is characterized by tongues on the heads that permit an improvement in the flatness of the planks.
The longer sides are processed with double grooves and rounded in order to make them safe for walking.
Laying may be carried out with hidden fastening using special clips in stainless steel or with screws in full view by fastening the planks on floating slats.
The surface in full view is milled to obtain a slip-resistant effect in the event that the floor is to be used, for example, at the edges of a pool.

Grained Tiles Ipè
The visible layer is composed of 7 parallel elements side by side; the underlying layer is composed of 3 Z-shaped elements that ensure maximum strength and stability: in fact, each element has exactly 3 fastening points.
The surface is reeded to obtain a slip-resistant effect. The Tiles are already assembled and ready for laying.

Where
It can be laid on all types of foundation where an adequate slope has been provided to drain rainwater.
If it is directly placed on a waterproofing sheath it is best to place the slats on special fixed and adjustable feet with rounded edges in order to avoid possible scratching on the sheath.
Installation on grass requires that the area to be floored is flattened beforehand and two layers of non woven fabric be inserted to reinforce the zones and keep grass from growing back between the planks.
How
FreeTime Planks with hidden fastening
They are laid by fastening them on floating slats. The slats may be lifted from the foundation by placing them on special feet whose height is adjustable (available for sale) to mantain the flooring level by enabling the outflow of water and the passage of piping.
A space must be left between the floating slats. This space must not exceed 30 cm. The planks are fastened in correlation to the slats (note that each head should be locked on them) with Gazzotti's stainless steel hidden clips and stainless steel flathead screws.
The distance between one plank and another is determined by the clip, while alignment must be checked before final fastening.
Previously cleaned FreeTime flooring must be treated with special protective Sundeck Oil Gazzotti when installed in order to ensure proper preservation of the flooring over time.
The free time products are not guaranteed if the surface is not treated with Sundeck Oil or different products are used.

It is necessary to leave 4-5 mm of space between the planks on side in order to enable water drainage.
A space must be left between the floating slats. this space must not exceed 30 cm.
The planks must be fastened in correlation to the slats (note that each haed should be locked on them) on the upper part, with double screws, after having perforated to avoid cracks and obtain optimal look.
It is necessary to use stainless steel countersunk screws. If a regular screw layout is requested, the installer should proceed with regular formwork laying.
Previously cleaned FreeTime flooring must be treated with special protective Sundeck Oil Gazzotti when installed in order to ensure proper preservation of the flooring over time.
The free time products are not guaranteed if the surface is not treated with Sundeck Oil or different products are used.
FreeTime Tiles
The tiles are already assembled and ready for flooring; they are laid on a smooth surface with adequate slope.
They may be laid with fixed spacers and may be lifted from the foundation by placing them on special feet whose height is adjustable (available for sale) to mantain the flooring level by enabling the outflow of water and the passage of piping.
Once placed the tiles can be inspected and are easily removable.
Previously cleaned tiles must be treated with special protective Sundeck Oil Gazzotti when installed in order to ensure proper preservation of the flooring over time.
The free time products are not guaranteed if the surface is not treated with Sundeck Oil or different products are used.
When
The wood floor can be laid at anytime.

Maintenance should be done simply using a cloth with only water or water and Detersave and well wrung. Detersave is the ideal neutral detergent to clean all types of wood floors by Gazzotti. It cleans without leaving any halon, it sanitizes your wood floor and leaves a pleasant perfume in the surrounding environment. In addition it acts as a strong bactericide.
Over time the flooring tends to absorb the oil applied at the time of installation and takes on a "dry" appearance and touch: it is therefore necessary to clean the flooring of all traces of dirt and filth and apply Gazzotti's Sundeck Oil again.
