Installation

Where

 •It can be laid on concrete screeds from 5 up to 7 cm thick. Concrete screeds are suitable both traditional or quick-drying hydraulic-binder based. They must be compact, solid and flat.

•It can be laid on pre-existing floors which must be compact and properly degreased.

•It can be laid to replace carpets, after taking them off, removing all residual glue and making sure the underfloor is compact enough.

•It can be laid on an existing parquet flooring after sanding only if it is well fixed on the underfloor. The new parquet flooring must be set perpendicularly to the old one. 

How

•Old Gallery Collection can be laid glued, floating or nailed. It is pre-finished and ready for laying: if necessary the installer can do an extra-waxing with the appropriate products for maintenance.

•If glued the glue will be correctly spread onto the underfloor, without gluing the sides or the heads of the strips. When laying any traces of glue must be removed before they dry only with a clean cloth without using any solvent or alcohol.  

•When laying floating the elements are laid on the special mat foreseeing, in case of particularly humid environments a vapor barrier: glue is foreseen, in small dots, only on the sides and heads of the strips.

•the products can be laid nailed on suitable underfloors. Further information about laying must make reference to the "Manuale per la posa di pavimenti di legno di uso civile" ("Manual for laying wooden flooring in homes")(Edilegno- Federlegno Arredo).

When

•When building or restructuring a house, parquet laying must be the very last operation to be done before furnishing.

•The moisture content of the screed and the environmental humidity must strictly meet the requirements.

Maintenance

Daily maintenance should be done simply using a wet cloth with water or water and Detersave (the neutral detergent and bactericide that sanitizes and leaves a pleasant perfume in the surrounding environment), and well wrung.

When necessary, wipe the carefully cleaned parquet with a cloth soaked in old Gallery Collection Cera Naturale (Natural Wax), spreading it evenly, and leave it to dry.

If the floor is very dirty, wipe with a cloth soaked in Old Gallery Collection Decerante (dewaxer) spreading it evenly over the floor. Leave for 2 hours, then remove the dirt and the dewaxer and wash the parquet using a well wrung out cloth soaked in water.

 When the parquet is dry, wax as described above.

The use of other products can cause irreparable damage to the finish.

For the maintenance of all the presanded versions, refer to the instructions of the finish manufacturers.

Old Gallery Collection - Cera Naturale: this is a product for the care and maintenance of parquet flooring which contains valuable natural wax.

 Spread it evenly on the floor with a cloth and leave it to dry according to the instructions you can find on the product label

Old Gallery Collection - Decerante Universale: it is meant for the extraordinary maintenance. It take off any sort of wax from the parquet flooring.

Wipe with a cloth soaked in Old Gallery Collection Decerante Universale spreading it evenly over the floor and leave it for a while. Then wash away the dewaxer and clean up the floor with a clean cloth soaked in water and well wrung. Then wax the floor by spreading Old Gallery Collection Cera Naturale. Follow the instructions on the product label.

Accessories

Skirting Boards

Made in solid wood, they are available coordinated with Old Gallery Collection flooring with the same waxed surface. Two different heights are available, associated to two different thicknesses: height 40 mm, thickness 15 mm; height 100 mm, thickness 10 mm.

Stair profiles

In solid wood, designed for easy stair construction with the same elements as the flooring.

Glue

The choice of the most appropriate glue depends on the type of floor chosen and the characteristics of the foundation. Two types of glue are available:

Underlay

Made of expanded polyethylene (3 mm thick), it is essential to use in case of floating laying.
